Abstract

920,589. Cartons; packages. W. BAHLSEN. Feb. 7, 1961 [April 19, 1960], No. 4600/61. Classes 18 and 94(1). In a carton of the type having four sides folded up from a base portion and in which the sides are connected by folded gusset portions the top of the box is covered by a foil secured to out-turned flaps on the sides and to inwardly turned flaps on the gusset folds. The foil may be lined paper or an aluminium foil or may be transparent. The carton is folded from the blank shown in Fig 11 to the form shown in Fig. 14 the foil 25 being secured to the flaps extending outwardly and to the inwardly extending flaps 21-24 on the corner gussets 6, 9, 10, 13. In a modification, the corner folds 26-29 are not provided. The lid portions 14, 15 are folded into engagement as shown in Fig. 9. In further embodiments, the foil 25 is folded round the out-turned flaps and stuck to the sides of the box; or two of the flaps may be turned inwards before the foil is applied.
