Abstract
916,017. Automatic voltage control. SORENSEN-ARD A.G. April 14, 1959 [April 28, 1958], No.12549/59. Class 38 (4). Three single-phase voltage regulators are linked to stabilize a three-phase supply. Each regulator comprises a saturable reactor controlled in an undisclosed manner by a saturated diode, the filament of which is energized by the voltage to be stabilized. The three saturable reactors 11a 12a, 13a are connected one in each line in series with the 3-phase supply 7, 8, 9. Three voltage transformers 17, 18, 19 have their primaries delta-connected to the output of the supply, and their star-connected secondaries energize the filaments of the three saturated diodes 11b, 12b, 13b. The filaments are deltaconnected so that each is energized by the vector sum of two phase voltages, and acts to control the reactor in series with the common phase, e.g. reactor 11 in line 7 is controlled by the vector sum of the voltages between lines 8 and 7 and 9 and 7.
