[Also in Division H2] A direct current apparatus for use in a battery charging system comprises a unitary assembly of a three phase alternator with permanent magnet excitation; a three phase regulator of the saturable reactor type and a silicon diode rectifier bridge. The Specification contains a short theoretical discussion on the design of the alternator and the regulator comprises a control winding separate from the A.C.windings.
