912,430. Loud-speaker enclosures. GOUGH, J. Aug. 10, 1961 [Aug. 27, 1960; Jan. 6, 1961], Nos. 29637/60 and 585/61. Class 40 (4). In a loud-speaker cabinet a loud-speaker 9 is mounted on a baffle 7 so that the front face of its diaphragm is in direct communication with the ambient space, while the rear face of the diaphragm is presented to a path defined by the soundreflecting surfaces of the sides and bottom of the cabinet and of the partition 8, which path has two straight portions 13a 13b extending in opposite directions, the latter of which portions terminates in an open mouth adjacent the diaphragm, and a reflector 11 is disposed in the path of the sound waves from the front face of the diaphragm so as to direct them across the diaphragm. In a second embodiment (Figs. 3, 4, not shown) the front portion 13b of the path is replaced by two portions, one on each side of the loud-speaker terminating in two mouths, while Fig. 5 (not shown), illustrates a cabinet combining the features of the first and second embodiments.
