Abstract

1344370 Loud-speaker cabinets PIONEER ELECTRONIC CORP 19 April 1971 [27 Feb 1970] 22527/71 Headings H4X and H4J A loud-speaker cabinet suitable for use as an infinite baffle type and as a phase inverting type includes a wall 15 apertured at 151 above its mid point to receive a loud-speaker 16 and arranged to be readily inverted to position the loud-speaker adjacent a duct 14, used for venting the cabinet in the phase inverting mode, so that sound absorbent material 181, 182 on walls 11, 12 and on a baffle 19 prevent intermediate and high frequency sounds being reflected through the duct. In the infinite baffle mode the wall 15 is orientated as shown and the outer end of duct 141 is sealed by a removable closure 20. In the phase inverting mode (Fig. 2, not shown) intermediate and high frequency speakers may be positioned above the main speaker.
