830,020. Sound-directive appliances. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. March 26, 1958 [March 26, 1957], No. 9888/57. Class 13. [Also in Group XXXIX] Two loud-speakers 1, 2 of like design are electrically connected so as to operate in opposite phase. They are arranged at an angle as shown so that the front face of 1 and the rear face of 2 radiate directly. The opposite faces communicate with an air space 6 connected to the interior of a bass reflex cabinet of such a design that it reverses the phase of the lowest frequency produced by the loudspeakers whereby the output from the space 6 then reinforces the direct output. The other frequencies from the space 6 are largely dissipated.
