[Also in Group XXXI] An axle drive for an electric locomotive comprises a flexible coupling 6 with driving and driven discs 7, 5 connected directly to the motor drive shaft 11 and the shaft of the drive pinion 3, respectively. As shown, a series of resilient sector-shaped elements are mounted between the discs 5, 7, but in a modification, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), a composite coupling comprises the sector-shaped and an annular series of circumferential resilient elements, the respective series being connected to a free intermediate disc (15).
