Abstract
1,192,301. Flexible couplings. W. T. BELLEW. 23 Jan., 1969 [9 Feb., 1968], No. 6682/68. Heading F2U. In a flexible shaft coupling, particularly for marine craft, of the type in which the driving and driven members are connected by axial bolts 6 mounted in resilient annular bushes 4, the ends of the shafts carry thrust pads 11, 12 which abut under axial load to reduce the thrust loading on the bushes 4. The bolts 6 carry axially spaced pairs of washers 8, 81 between which resilient discs 9 are mounted.
