Abstract

911,575. Cutting-out presses. BABST & FILS S.A., J. March 8, 1960 [May 5, 1959], No. 8203/60. Class 31 (1). [Also in Group XXIV] In a cutting-out press in which the movable platen 22 is driven by means of toggle joints 16, 17 arranged symmetrically with respect to a common crank-shaft and the knee of each toggle joint is connected by a rod to a respective crank of the crank-shaft, the position of the crank-shaft axis O<SP>1</SP> is determined by the intersection of two straight lines CA and DB each passing through two positions of the knee of a toggle joint i.e. its position C or D in which the toggle joint is extended and a position A or B between the extended position and the bent position G or K, while the cranks O<SP>1</SP>E and O<SP>1</SP>F form between them an angle less than 180 degrees so that when the toggle joints are in the extended position, the cranks O<SP>1</SP>E and O<SP>1</SP>F form continuations of the lines CA, DB. The cranks may be constituted by eccentrics.
