[Also in Groups XXV and XXXII] In a turnbuckle comprising a body A and oppositely threaded rods D, E threaded into the ends of the body, the rod E has a bore which may receive the rod D to increase the range of adjustment of the turnbuckle. The rods turn within internally threaded bosses B, C which may be secured to the body by pressing. The external ends of the rods may be provided with hooks which respectively engage the water channel B3 on a vehicle and the top bar A5 of a luggage rack and the external surface of the body may be knurled or keyed to facilitate operation.
