934,272. Extruding. L. SCHULER A.G. March 30, 1961 [May 4, 1960], No. 11682/61. Class 83 (4). An indirect impact extrusion press has its ram 8 reciprocated through a connecting rod 12 by a crank pin 11 on an oscillating member 7 having a second crank pin 5 linked by a connecting rod 4 with a crank pin 3 on a rotating crank shaft 1. Member 7 is preferably a crank-shaft, Fig. 2 (not shown), but may be a triangular plate pivoted at one corner and having the crank pins at the other corners. The throw of the crank 11 is about twice that of crank 3. Comparisons are made with rams driven by single rotating cranks and toggle linkages.
