874,677. Extrusion machines. GOLLER, H., and CHATELET, N., [trading as ANKERWERK GEB GOLLER]. May 31, 1958, No. 17477/58. Class 87(2). An independent axial oscillation is superimposed on the rotary movement of the worm S of an extrusion machine. As shown, the worm is rotated through gearing G by a motor M and is formed with a piston Z located in a cylinder which forms part of a closed hydraulic circuit comprising a pipe P and extension cylinder X. An auxiliary piston Y in cylinder X is reciprocated by a connecting rod R and a crank disc T rotated by a second motor, thus imparting a reciprocating movement to the piston Z and worm S. The crank pin is adjustable in a slot V in the disc T to vary the amplitude a of the reciprocation and the speed of the second motor may be varied to change its frequency. The speed of the motor M may also be varied.
