Abstract

634,972. Crank presses. RHODES, C. J. Jan. 27, 1948, No. 2475. [Class 87 (ii)] A crank operated press has a ram guided for reciprocation by both part-cylindrical portions 12 and cylindrical portions 13 which engage with a concentrically curved slide bar 10 secured by bolts 11 to the side of the press. The sides of the press are recessed at 9 to take the cylindrical portion 13. The slide bar may have flats 7, 8 which engage corresponding flats on the sides of the press. In a modification, instead of forming flats on the slide bar, grooves may be formed in the sides of the press. Bushes 15, 16 are provided to form the bearing surfaces between the portions 12, 13 and the slide bar. The axes of the crankshaft ram and slide bars are in the same plane.
