Abstract
958,289. Cupping. L. SCHULER A.G. Oct. 17, 1962 [Nov. 30, 1961], No. 39280/62. Addition to 958,288. Heading B3Q. A drawing press similar to that disclosed in the parent Specification but having a small stand width and a long stroke comprises two identical toggle linkages for operating a ram, each linkage comprising a thrust strut 5 pivotally connected at one end to the ram 4 and at the other to a connecting rod 6 the other end of which is connected to a driven crank 8 and which is extended beyond the linkage 9 by an arm 10, and a link 11 pivotally connected at one end to the arm 10 and at the other to one arm 12 of an angle lever 12, 13 pivotally connetted at 14 to a head 2 of the press, the arm 13 being connected by a link 15 to a crank 16 driven by the same driving shaft as the crank 8. In operation the joints 7 connecting the rod 6 with the strut 5 move outwardly. The linkages 10 to 15 are arranged so that the fixed point 14 is on the outside of the driving shaft bearing.
