Abstract

573,132. Forging machines. BLISS CO. E. W. Dec. 7, 1943, No 20463. Convention date Sept. 11, 1942. [Class 83 (iv)] A press having its slide 17 connected to the tool or die-holder 18 by e toggle 41 which, wher straightened, causes the tool to act on the work and, when flexed, prevents such action. The toggle is operated by fluid pressure acting through a piston 68, rack 62, pinion 60 and crank 55. In a modification, the piston-rod is directly connected to the toggle by a link. The slide 17 is reciprocated con. tinuously by a crank or eccentric 27.
