[Class 100(ii)] In a printing cylinder of the type which is split longitudinally into two approximately semicylindrical parts on which is superimposed a metallic design sheet tensioned by the relat i v e angular displacement of the parts the parts 6, 10 are connected together by intercalating bosses 24, 28 receiving one or more pivot pins 32, the axes of which are offset with respect to the cylinder axis. Wedge blocks 48, 50 disposed between the cylinder parts in a shaped recess 38 are operated by a screw threaded rod 56 to tension or release the design sheet. A wedge-shaped recess 70 houses the ends of the design sheet which has beaded ends.
