[Also in Group XXII] In a pedal for cycles of the kind comprising tread parts 12 supported on rods 11 extending between and secured to the end plates 8, 9, one or both end plates are permanently secured by welding to the adjacent ends of the rods 11. As shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the rods 11 are welded to the inner end plate 8 which is plain. The outer plate 9 is pierced for the passage of screw threaded ends on the rods 11 which are provided with clamping nuts 13.
