790,749. Crank shafts. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG AKT.- GES. Oct. 2,1956 [Oct. 11, 1955], No. 29950/56. Class 80 (2). A counterweight for a crankshaft is formed in two parts 5, 6 each having a diverging undercut groove 13 while the side face of the crank web 2 has diverging undercut transverse ribs 9, 11 and 10, 12. The two parts 5, 6 are slid along the ribs from opposite sides into wedging engagement with the ribs and are clamped in this position by a transverse bolt 15 passing through the parts 5, 6. Alternatively, the grooves may be on the web 2 and the ribs on the parts 5, 6. The grooves and ribs may be rectilinear or curved.
