Abstract

599,095. Bearings. FISCHER BEARINGS CO., Ltd., and BARNBROOK, T. G. Sept. 13, 1945, No. 23591. [Class 12 (i)] A ball or roller bearing has a dirt-excluding annular member 4 cemented to the end face of one or other race or both may be so fitted; in the latter case one annular dirt-excluding member has an off-set portion 9a to overlap the other, as shown in Fig. 5. The annular member 4, which may be recessed into its. particular race to lie flush with the end face, may have a running clearance with the periphery of the other race or as shown in Fig. 2 may be extended to co-operate. with a shoulder 6 formed by cutting away a portion of the other race. The annular member may be of fibre plate material. Felt or rubber packing may be provided at such shoulder or at the overlapping of the annular members shown in Fig. 5.
