A bearing for a shaft 10 comprises quantities of lubricant located in sealed recesses 25 in a sleeve 23 disposed between the shaft 10 and half-bushes 21, 22. Each recess 25 is sealed by a sealing-ring 26 and is filled with lubricant under pressure through a lubricating-point 27. The sleeve 23 is held in position by studs 24.. The lubricant is preferably a mixture of grease, graphite, and molybdenum bisulphide.
