Class 12(1) In the sealing assembly on a bearing end claimed in claim 1 of the parent Specification, the retaining member is in the form of a ring 20 adapted for screw-threaded engagement with the bearing end. The ring 20 which may be of brass is externally screw-threaded and enters the recess in the bearing end to press against the first packing ring 19.
