796,086. Cylindrical journal bearings. AKTIEBOLAGET GOTAVERKEN. Sept. 6, 1956 [Sept. 23, 1955], No. 27376/56. Class 12(1). In a crank-shaft bearing comprising a bearing block 2 having a detachable split bushing 4, 5, the supporting part of the bearing, block 2 is defined by a part-cylindrical surface 7 extending over more than 180 degrees and adjoined by two vertical side walls 9, 10 spaced apart a distance which is greater than the diameter of the journal but less than the outer diameter of the bushing. Each part of the bushing has an inner cylindrical surface extending over 180 degrees, an outer cylindrical surface extending over less than 180 degrees and two parallel walls 13 which are spaced apart the same distance as, or slightly less than, the distance between the side walls 9, 10. A bearing cap 6 completes the assembly. When the cap 6 and upper bushing part 4 have been removed, the lower bushing part 5 can be removed by inserting a short peg 14 in one of the radial lubricant supply channels and turning the shaft until the bushing part 5 is in the position normally occupied by the bushing part 5.
