Abstract

1,212,481. Bearings. KERNVERFAHRENSTECHNIK m.b.H. GES. FUER. 5 March, 1969 [7 March, 1968], No. 11675/69. Heading F2A. A footstep bearing for a high-speed shaft comprises a supporting member 1 provided with a recess 7 and a lubricating groove consisting of a vertical slot 8 connected to a discharge conduit 9. The shaft is supported radially by a bush 2. The bush and journal may each be provided with a helical groove 15, (16), (Fig. 4, not shown), such that oil is carried down to the bearing point on rotation of the shaft. The shaft may alternatively be provided with a vertical slot 12, or grooves (13), (Fig. 5, not shown).
