[Class 12 (i)] [Also in Group XXVI] The space between inner and outer bearings is sealed by a metal ring 8a with a slit periphery 10a initially of dished form pressed flat into a groove 7a. A seal 12 of flexible material, e.g., synthetic rubber may be held compressed in the groove by the plate, or bonded to the plate; or held compressed between two plates in a wide groove. Specifications 30,487/09, 331,172, [both in Class 12 (i)], and 448,149 are referred to.
