910,742. Liners for barrels and containers. CAREY, J. DE V. Feb. 12, 1959 [Nov. 12, 1957], No. 35282/57. Classes 21, 66 and 125(3). A cask or like container 1 with a replaceable liner 3 of polythene or other non-toxic, odourless and tasteless synthetic material introduced through the bunghole 2 of the cask, has its liner 3 formed with an aperture to which is welded a ring 9 that forms a close fit in the bunghole 2 of the cask, the ring 9 and a bung 14 being correspondingly tapered and formed with co-operating shoulders that prevent the bung from being removed from the ring 9 when inserted therein. The liner 3, the ring 9 and the bung 14 may all be of the same material. The liner 3 may be of extruded tubular film closed at its ends by circular sheets 5 and 6 welded thereto. The liner may be inflated with air prior to filling. The cask has a spike hole in its side for venting purposes
