Abstract

947,043. Container closures. F. G. ROBINSON. Nov. 18, 1960 [Aug. 18, 1959], No. 28137/59. Heading B8T. A tamper-proof bottle-closure comprises an inner screw cap 1 and an outer shell 3 retained on the cap 1 by the engagement of an inwardly directed flange 4 with a shoulder 2 on the cap, the shell terminating in a skirt 6 which is rolled over a bead formed on the bottle neck. On removal the closure is ruptured along a line of weakening 7 formed at the junction of the skirt 6 with the shell 3. The skirt 6 and weakened line 7 may be formed on the inner cap 1 and the outer shell 3 may have the form of a cap.
