Abstract
A thin tungsten plate for use in making a semiconductor device is roughened and then coated with pure or impurity-doped gold by pressing against it a gold foil 0.02-0.03 mm. thick perforated with 2 to 3 pin holes/mm.2 under a pressure of about 5 metric tons/cm.2 and subsequently heating at 1100 DEG C. for 2 to 5 minutes. 1% of antimony or 0.5% of boron may be included in the gold coating as a doping agent and a coating of this doped gold may be applied to the first gold layer.
