In a method of forming an electrode of a semi-conductor device, a material which consists at least in part of a substance such as indium which is capable of acting as a significant impurity is applied to the surface of the semi-conductor material in the molten state, at the same time forming a bond to a metallic connector positioned adjacent to the said surface. The description and Figures are substantially identical with those of Specification 831,085.
