Abstract

906,308. Electromagnetic relays. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. March 5, 1959 [March 7, 1958], No. 7696/59. Class 38 (5). A relay having its winding on one limb a U-shaped core has an armature comprising a long portion and a short portion perpendicular to the long portion which lies along the other limb of the core and is arranged so that the short portion moves about an axis parallel to the axis of the long portion on energization of the winding. As shown, a contact spring 19 engages between projections 27, 28 and biases the short portion 15 of the armature away from the coil carrying limb 11 of the core. The long portion 14 of the armature is located adjacent the limb 12 by a recess 25 and projection 26 which engage flanges 17, 16 of an insulating relay frame (not shown). The projection 26 may be tightly held in its corresponding recess in the flange 16 so that the limb 14 twists on energization. The limbs 11, 12 have flat faces for engagement with the armature. Terminals 18<SP>1</SP>, 19<SP>1</SP>, 20<SP>1</SP>, 23, 24 project from the flange 16 and may be coupled to printed and etched connectors.
