Abstract
892,844. Electromagnetic relays. ERICSSON TELEPHONES Ltd. Aug. 29, 1958 [Aug. 30, 1957], No. 27322/57. Class 38 (5). A polarized relay, the armature of which is retained in both the operative and inoperative positions by permanent flux, has a permanent magnet 9 on a magnetic core 1 which passes through the coil 5 and is formed with a polepiece 2. An L-shaped magnetic member 10 engages one pole of the magnet 9 and carries the pivoted armature 11 and the contact spring set 12. A U-shaped magnetic member 7 engages the other end of the magnet and is formed with a polepiece 6. When the coil 5 is not energized the polepieces 2 and 6 are of the same polarity and the armature is retained in engagement with the polepiece to which it was last attracted. Energization of the coil 5 will reverse the polarity of one of the polepieces 2, 6 to move the armature if the energization is the reverse of that of the previous operation.
