Abstract

915,019. Electromagnetic relays. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. June 12, 1961, No. 21134/61. Class 38 (5). A balanced armature relay has its armature biased by a flat spiral spring and biased to its de-energized position by a permanent magnet. As described, a relay generally similar to that described in Specification 811,262 has a magnetic back-stop comprising an iron block 29 with two permanent magnets 30 forming a horseshoe magnet which is mounted, by means of a screw in a hole 31 so that the flux in the armature due to the back-stop is perpendicular to the relay energizing flux.
