903,480. Reactor pressure-vessels. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. June 6, 1961 [June 14, 1960], No. 20815/60. Class 39 (4). The nuclear reactor pressure vessel 1 has an internal support grid 3 mounted to allow for relative movement of the grid and vessel due to thermal dimension changes. The cylindrical skirts 5, 7 are bolted together at their upper ends with an annular spacing 11. Skirt 5 is welded to 3 and skirt 8 to vessel 1 at 9 so as to form a flexible support. The vessel is carriedupon the external skirt 12, which being of the same diameter as 8, carries the weight directly of members supported on grid 3.
