Abstract

A heat-resistant, austenitic steel has the following percentage composition, by weight:- ..0.04- 0.15 .Cr.12 - 20 .Ni.30 - 42 .W.1 - 4 .Ti.0.8 - 1.5 .Al.1.5 - 4 .B.0.01- 0.15 .Mn.up to 2 .Si.up to 1 .Fe.the remainder Up to half of the W may be replaced by an equal quantity of Mo and Co 0-5, Li 0-0.3 and Zr 0-0.5 may also be present. The steel may be solution heated at 1100-1200 DEG C. for 1-4 hours, air cooled and aged at 700-800 DEG C. for 16-24 hours.
