Abstract
901,486. Textile drafting apparatus. AMBLER SUPERDRAFT Ltd. Aug. 16, 1960 [Nov. 27, 1959], No. 40385/59. Class 120 (2). In a textile drafting apparatus of the type having a pair of small, weighted intermediate rollers 5, 6 arranged close to the nip of a pair of drafting rollers 3 and in which one of the intermediate rollers is formed with a pair of flanges between which the other roller closely fits, at least one of the intermediate rollers has operative surfaces of smooth flexible material, e.g. a plastic, either the roller covering or complete roller being formed of said material. In the form shown it is the flanged roller 6 which is formed from synthetic rubber, the roller 5 being made of metal. Weighting of the intermediate rollers is effected by having weights mounted on the member 22 which acts as a carrier for the roller 5. Cleaning of the rollers 5, 6 is effected by blocks 28, 38 respectively which are shaped so as to closely fit the rollers and adjacent shaft portions; block 28 is formed of synthetic rubber while block 31 is formed of metal or resilient material of a harder grade than roller 6. It is also stated that the delivery rollers 3 may be cleared by the first part of the thread balloon 11.
