Abstract

947,121. Removing foreign matter from fibre webs; drafting apparatus. STOOMSPINNERIJ TWENTHE. Jan. 3, 1962 [Jan. 4, 1961], No. 298/62. Headings DID and D1N. Webs of cotton fibres are drafted and then passed between a pair of crushing rollers that have smooth hard surfaces and are pressed together with such force that impurities in the web are disintegrated. Four drafting rollers 1-4 and 6-9 may be used followed by crushing rollers 10, 11, or the rollers 10, 11 may replace and effect the additional function of the last pair of drafting rollers. The bottom crushing roller 11 is rotatably mounted in a pair of supporting members 12, 13 and the top roller 10 is mounted in a pair of levers 15, 16 on which an adjustable weight 14 is carried.
