Abstract

671,641. Textile drafting apparatus; rollers. AMBLER SUPERDRAFT, Ltd. Oct. 30, 1948 [Nov. 7, 1947], No. 29684/47. Class 120(ii) Drafting apparatus of the kind in which roving is passed through the nip of a pair of feed rollers, the lower one of which is positively driven and the upper loaded, has one roller provided with a pair of flanges having outwardly diverging surfaces between which the other roller fits closely the width of the groove being such as to exert a slight squeezing action on the roving. Each lower roller 12 preferably is constituted by a fluted barrel portion 16 and a pair of spaced collars 17 to form flanges. The upper roller 13 is mounted and loaded as described in Specification 671,640. The invention may be applied to the drafting apparatus described in Specification 671,633.
