Abstract

873,155. Cleaning drafting rollers. RIETER & CIE A. G., JOH JACOB. April 6, 1959 [April 8, 1958], No. 11630/59. Classes 120(1) and 120(2) A wiper 6 is mounted on smooth parts of a lower roller 4 to clear a top roller 5, the rotation of the roller 4 urging the wiper 6 against the roller 5. The wiper comprises a blade 9 of brass and feet 12, 13 to rest on the roller 4, the blade having a recess 11 through which the sliver web passes, and a weight 14 being optionally attached to one or both feet 12, 13 to increase the pressure of the blade on the roller 5. By suitable choice of bearing material for the feet 12, 13 the torque on the blade 9, and hence the pressure of the blade 9 on the roller 5, can be adjusted.
