Abstract

962,466. Bearings. MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER A.G. June 23, 1961 [Aug. 8, 1960], No. 22871/61. Heading F2A. [Also in Division D1] A spindle arrangement for spinning &c. frames has a tubular casing 4 which houses a footstep bearing 10, damping fluid between said casing 4 and a spindle housing 1, and an oil sump between said footstep bearing 10 and the closed lower end of the casing 4. The casing 4 is pressed into a bearing housing 2 which contains a roller bearing 3, has a corrugated portion 5 which facilitates resilience, and is closed by a sheet 6 of synthetic plastics material. The footstep bearing 10 is slidable in the casing 4 and is urged by a spring 15 against a ring 9 which is retained by a groove 8 in the easing 4. A blade 12, received by the bearing 10, is lubricated via a bore 14 in the bearing 10 which connects with the oil sump.
