Abstract

486,911. Drawing &c. rollers. SONOCO PRODUCTS CO. Oct. 1, 1937, No. 26673. Convention date, Aug. 18. [Class 120 (ii)] Rollers for use in textile machines for drawing and feeding rovings, slivers or threads and provided with a surface of synthetic resilient rubber-like composition, such as described in Specifications 398,091, [Group V], and 457,937 are provided with contiguous, narrow, shallow circumferential grooves, whereby drawing is facilitated and accumulation of fibre at the front of the clearer board is prevented. The grooves may be constituted by a continuous spiral and preferably are approximately À01 inch wide, a satisfactory depth being '003 inch.
