A wringer roller comprises a rigid core 10, 12 or 15 with a covering 11 of rubber or like resilient material, the core being of smaller diameter in the middle than at the ends, and the covering 11 being thicker in the middle than at the ends. The core may be formed as shown in any of Figs. 1 to 3.
