Abstract

898,886. Gear pumps. CLARK EQUIPMENT CO. March 22, 1960 [March 23, 1959], No. 10113/60. Class 110 (2). In a fluid pressure-loaded intermeshing gear pump, the thrust plate 48 is bored at 94 to feed pressure fluid to a motive surface consisting of an annular portion 106 and a tapered portion 90. The motive surface of the thrust plate may consist of an annular surface carrying an integral axially-extending projection disposed about an outer or inner diameter (see Figs. 5 and 6, not shown), respectively. Again the said motive surface may carry a shim (see Fig. 7, not shown), or a series of projecting teeth spaced annularly one from another about one or more selected diameters of the thrust plate.
