Abstract
1,073,415. Steam turbines. C. A. PARSONS & CO. Ltd. Aug. 5, 1965 [Aug. 13, 1964], No.33120/64. Heading FIT. A steam turbine nozzle chest 6 incorporating an annular nozzle ring 8 and supplied with steam through inlets 5 has an integral wall 6a extending axially and carrying at least one stator blade stage 9 which may be of impulse or reaction type, or in the case of more than one stage, a combination of these types. The chest 6 is constructed by two parts connected together at a horizontal plane by bolts (7), Fig. 2 (not shown) to form self-contained steam spaces 10, 11. Inner and outer casings 1, 12 respectively surround the chest 6 which is located relatively to these casings by radial dowels 13, the engagement of projections (17), Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), on the lower part of chest 6 with recesses (18) on the corresponding part of inner casing 1, and the engagement of projections (19) with recesses (20). In a modification the chest 6 is made in more than two parts.
