Abstract

1,249,279. Turbines. MOTOREN-UND TURBINEN-UNION MUNCHEN G.m. b. H. May 22, 1970 [May 23, 1969], No. 25024/70. Heading F1T. A pivotal stator guide vane 9 for a gas turbine has a shaft 7 supported in a bush 3 in the turbine casing 2 by means of helical multi-start thread like bearing surfaces 17 on the shaft. The surfaces 17 also define a helical path for cooling air which flows from an annular groove 16 in shaft 7 via the path to a further groove 18 and thence through ports 6 and recess 22 into the gas stream. A labyrinth 20 prevents cooling air leakage from groove 16 along shaft 7 in the opposite direction. A collar 8 on shaft 7 adjacent vane 9 is urged into engagement with an end face 3a of bush 3 by means of a spring 10 disposed between a washer 10a and an actuating lever 13 secured to end 12 of the shaft.
