Class 64(3) An immersion heater for heating fluids in a tank 23 comprises a plurality of solid drawn tubes 10 closed at one end, having machined uniform V grooves 12 and being held in a tube plate 11 at their open ends, and inner tubes 13 which stop short of the closed ends of the tubes 10 and are supported in a tube plate 15. A heating fluid, for example, steam passes via inlet 21 and chamber 20 through the inner tubes 13 and returns through the annular passages 14, where it heats the tubes 10, to chamber 17 having a discharge opening 18.
