929,600. Air-heating stoves; tubular heat-exchangers. F. W. JEROCH. Aug. 28, 1961 [Aug. 30, 1960], No. 30921/61. Classes 64 (1) and 64 (3). In a device for heating or cooling a medium, e.g. air, comprising a plurality of coaxial cylinders and a central chamber 2, for receiving an oil burner or a heating or cooling medium adjacent cylinders are connected by helical partitions 6 to define helical channels some of which are used for the passage of the heat-exchange medium and some for the medium to be heated or cooled. The latter medium is directed by an impeller (Fig. 3, not shown), into outer helical channels 15 to 19 its direction of flow then being reversed and directed into inner channels 23 to 27. The direction of flow is again reversed in channel 27 and the medium flows finally through channels 28, 29 and 30 to an annular duct 31 having an outlet 32. The heating or cooling medium strikes the end wall 4 of the chamber 2 and is directed into channels 5 and 7, which are located between the channels 15 to 19 and 20 to 27, a helical outlet 8 being provided to convey the medium from channel 7 to a discharge duct 9.
