Abstract

1,001,032. Burners. S. GHELFI. Feb. 26, 1964 [Feb. 26, 1963], No. 8070/64. Heading F4T. A burner for three fuels comprises a series of coaxial tubes 1, 4, 15, 23, 28, 36, 40 defining annular passages supplied with oxygen at an inlet 19, with gaseous fuel at inlet 20, with steam or air or gaseous fuel at an inlet 26, with liquid fuel at an inlet 34, with steam or air or gas at an inlet 38 and with powdery or viscous fuel at an inlet 42. The fuels, steam and air are discharged into a mixing chamber 46 defined by the projecting end of the tube 4. A distributer 17 with axial or inclined bores 18 directs the gaseous fuel into the mixing chamber. A conical nozzle 24 directs the steam into the mixing chamber and has helical ribs 30. The tubes 1, 4 define a cooling chamber divided longitudinally by a partition 5 and supplied with water by an inlet 8. The water leaves by an outlet 9. The inner tube 40 is axially adjustable.
