Abstract

893,693. Spray-producers. DEFENSOR A.G. April 25, 1958 [April 27, 1957 ; April 11, 1958 (2)], No. 13284/58. Class 69 (3). In an aerosol producing apparatus, liquid is fed to the space between two rotating discs I engaging at their peripheries, and is flung from them as a thin film which is broken up by an air stream delivered through an annular channel e. Those droplets not properly engaged by the air stream impinge on lamellae 7 spaced around the discs at the outlet of the channel e, and are then carried off by the air stream. The discs are carried at the front end of a hollow shaft i of an electric motor a, and an impeller k is attached to the rear end of the shaft whereby air is drawn into the apparatus and delivered via parallel vanes c through the channel. When the discs are rotated liquid is drawn through a hose o from a detachable liquid tank n, and is driven past a regulating valve r, and a stationary bellows t to the bore of the motor shaft from which it passes to the disc space. A handle ii, a motor control switch ll, and a support nn are provided. The lamellae 7 are inclined to the radial direction of the discs, and may be so inclined and spaced to prevent liquid particles flung from the discs from passing between them. In further embodiments the lamellae or vanes have various shapes and may extend only partly across the width of the air channel. Specification 893,694 is referred to.
