Abstract
791,645. Comminuting apparatus. RUEMCKE, [nee SLIK], F. April 19, 1956 [April 19, 1955], No. 11894/56. Class 59 Apparatus for finely comminuting a plastic mass, e.g. a ceramic mixture comprises a stationary conical casing 4 provided with slots 5 through which a damp plastic mass is urged by means of a worm 3, the mass being centrifuged by means of rotating impellers 17, against a baffle ring 7 from which it is removed by a scraper 18. The impellers 17 are secured to ribs 8 which connect the ring 7 to a disc 9 mounted on an axially-displaceable rotatable shaft 10. The disc 9 carries a centrifuge ratchet disc 19 which projects into a groove 20 in the casing 4 which has a bell-shaped portion 6. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the plastic mass is urged through the slots in the casing by means of a piston and the baffle ring is integral with the disc 9 so that its open side is turned away therefrom.
