Abstract

889,898. Pipe joints. OIL CENTER TOOL CO. Dec. 9, 1960 [Feb. 15, 1960], No. 42373/60. Class 99(1). A flange connector for a tube comprises a sector shaped flange 22, Fig. 3, with an abutment 36 around its outer edge on which the flange pivots when bolts 32 are tightened. The connectors are shown in a multiple pipe assembly 16, 18, 20, wherein the sector shaped member 22 associated with each pipe combine to form a circular plate. The members 22 abut against shoulders 40 on the pipes so that when the bolts 32 are tightened to draw the members 22 against a header plate 23, the pipes are forced against tapered seats 42. In a modification, Fig. 4, the sector shaped plates 22a are integral with the pipes and are sealed by sealing rings 50.
