Abstract

886,251. Two-part couplings. AMP Inc. April 22, 1958 [April 22, 1957], No. 12730/58. Class 38 (1). In a connection between connectors crimped to conductors 6, each connector comprises a U-shaped portion 26 from which extends forwardly a blade 14 bent back on itself to form a spring tongue 17 with a contact face 20. A tab 24 is struck up from the outer surface of blade 14 and when the connector is inserted in a body such as 30 until the portion 26 abuts a shoulder 36, said tab snaps behind another shoulder 37 to retain the connector in the body. The bodies of the two connectors are adapted to telescope into interlocking engagement, the contact faces 20 then engaging each other and being maintained in contact by co-operation between the side walls of the bodies and the connectors.
